Obituary for Donna Mae Walstrom (Siira)

Donna Mae Walstrom, 73, a resident of Ahmeek, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015, in Pontiac, MI, at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland Hospital.

She was born on December 5, 1941, daughter of the late Paul and Agnes (Kiilunen) Siira. She attended the Calumet-Laurium-Keweenaw public schools where she excelled at majorette baton.

On March 24th, 1962, she was united in marriage to Ronald Charles Walstrom who preceded her in death in 1979.

In her earlier years, Donna waitressed at various establishments, was then a stay-at-home mom and, later, worked many years at the Michigan Tech bookstore, as a cashier, until her retirement.

Donna was a wonderful caregiver to her family and friends, a dedicated member of Faith Lutheran Church and was an accomplished and avid bowler - you could find her often at Miller’s Recreation, on Tuesday evenings, for the Women’s League.

Donna leaves behind daughters Tanya Walstrom and Tami (Thomas Kennedy) Walstrom, dear brother, Paul “Ronnie” (Kathleen) Siira, nephews Jeff Siira and Kevin (Kerri) Siira, grandchildren, Arik and Brayden Kinder, Kristopher, Keisha, Kody and Kyle Kennedy, great-niece Kailey (Jordan) Kane and great-nephews Kade and Keegan Siira, and great-grandchildren Aiden, Alexander and Logan Kennedy. She also leaves behind many, many dear relatives and friends, including her Aunt Jean (Elmer) Johnson, and Jean (Dominic) Boggio.

For anyone who knew Donna, please know that as you are reading this, she is sending you a BIG HUG and wishing you well.

Our family would be honored if you would join us, in remembrance of Donna, beginning at 12:00 PM, on October 24, 2015, with a Memorial Service to begin at 2:00 PM, at Faith Lutheran Church, in Calumet, with Pastor Vorhes to officiate. A light luncheon will follow.

The Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet is assisting the family with the arrangements. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.ericksoncrowleypeterson.com
