Helen Janet Spreitzer, 86, of Eagle Harbor, passed away on March 3, 2015, at Gardenview Assisted Living, in Calumet.
She was born on April 29, 1928 in Mohawk a daughter of the late, Molnar and Helen (Wesala) Zigmond. Helen attended the Calumet Pubic School System, and graduated in 1946. She then went on to attend Suomi College and St. Joseph’s Nursing College in Hancock, graduating in 1950.
On June 2, 1951 she married Jacob “Paul” Spreitzer at St. Joseph’s Church in Calumet. He passed away in May of 2009.
She loved gardening, flower arranging, reading, writing, going to the casino, traveling, her dogs and spending time at her Eagle Harbor home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Kenneth and Daughter in law: Vicky Spreitzer.
Survived by:
two sons: Mark Spreitzer of Eagle Harbor
Jay (Sun Hee) Spreitzer of Andover, MN.
two grandchildren: Joe and Janice
Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of Helen’s life will be held in June of 2015 and an announcement will be made at that time.
Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Eagle Harbor.

Alzheimer’s Association or Michigan Association for the Blind.
