Dianne Long, 68, a resident of Church Street in Calumet passed away on Friday September 12, 2014 at the Aspirus Keweenaw Hospital in Laurium.
She was born August 17, 1946 in Laurium a daughter of the late Henry and Sally (Pietila) Danis.
Dianne graduated from Calumet High School with the class of 1965.
On January 14, 1966 she was united in marriage to Bob Long in the Sacred Heart Church in Calumet.
Dianne was employed as a payroll clerk for several area business’s including Gateley’s Department Store, the Townhouse and Penny’s. Most recently she worked for Calumet Public Hospital as a payroll clerk and retired from Portage View Hospital at Dr. McKenzie’s office.
Spending time with her family was a priority for Dianne; she loved the time spent with her son and special nephew Cole Preston. She was very glad to have visited with her brother in Myrtle Beach and was looking forward to her trip she had planned with her husband to Las Vegas this October. She also loved to play bingo and buy her daily lottery tickets.
Preceding her in death was her parents, and Brothers: Tom and Michael Danis
She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and Altar Society and past member of the Lady Elks Aux.

Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday September 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Sacred Heart Church in Calumet with Fr. Abraham Mupparathara to officiate.
Friends may call at the Erickson Crowley Peterson Funeral Home in Calumet on Tuesday from 5-7 PM and a parish prayer service will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday in the Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Ahmeek.
